Next Sunday, 11 May 2025

National Technology Day, observed annually on May 11, commemorates India's significant strides in science and technology. The day marks the anniversary of the successful nuclear tests conducted in Pokhran, Rajasthan, in 1998, under the leadership of then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

These tests, known as Operation Shakti, positioned India as a nuclear-capable nation and showcased its scientific and technological capabilities.
