National Lemonade Day is celebrated every year on the First Sunday in May to cherish the beautiful glass of sweet, zesty goodness.
This tangy day is the perfect excuse to enjoy a glass, or more, especially since it falls right in the middle of the scorching summer heat
National Lemonade Day is more than just enjoying a glass as it is also about empowerment through entrepreneurship.
Kids learn the value of earning their own money, making decisions, and thinking like CEOs, even if they’re only 8 years old.

Origin of National Lemonade Day
This day was created in 2007 by entrepreneur and author Michael Holthouse in Houston, Texas.
His goal was to inspire youth by teaching them important life and business skills through something as simple, and brilliant, as a lemonade stand.
The idea grew like wild lemons on a hot summer day.
Now, over a million kids across the U.S. and Canada have participated in National Lemonade Day programs, learning about budgeting, setting goals, teamwork, and customer service.
History of Lemonades
People have been enjoying lemonades for centuries.
In Mamluk Egypt, people drank a mixture made from lemons, dates, and honey and also had a version that mixed lemon juice sweetened with sugar, known as qatarmizat.
The word “lemonade” appeared in England around 1663 when a man named Samuel Pepys wrote a diary about drinking lemonade during that time.
Lemonades gained widespread popularity in Paris where a company called the Compagnie de Limonadiers started selling it.
Street vendors carried containers of lemonade on their backs and served cups to people on the streets.
In 1767, Joseph Priestley invented carbonated water, and he published instructions on how to make it in 1772.
By 1833, the first known carbonated lemonade was being sold at refreshment stands in Britain.
A well-known brand called R. White's Lemonade began selling in the UK in 1845, and it’s still around today.
