Who Started National Tequila Day
The origin of the National Tequila Day is still vague but although the drink originated in Mexico, the day is believed to be American.

When Spanish conquerors arrived in Mexico in the 16th century, they started to distill a spirit from the agave plant. This, later on, became the popular drink it is known today, Tequila.
National Tequila Day seems to be a fairly recent one that supposedly started in the late 1990s to the early 2000s. According to some reports, the Tequila Regulatory Council which is a Mexican government agency created on this day.
