National OOTD Day
National OOTD Day is celebrated every year on June 30. In 2026, it falls on Tuesday, June 30.
OOTD stands for "Outfit of the Day." It is the outfit you are wearing today whether that means jeans and a white tee, a summer dress, office clothes, vacation shorts, sneakers, sandals, or the one outfit that finally made it out of your “I’ll wear this someday” pile.
National OOTD Day is simple: wear something that makes you feel good, take a photo if you want, and give your outfit a little main-character energy. But in our opinion, every day should be National OOTD Day!

Who started National OOTD Day
National OOTD Day was started by Stassi Schroeder, known from Vanderpump Rules. The day began in 2018 as a celebration of the confidence boost that comes from wearing an outfit you love.
And honestly, that is why the day still works. A good outfit can change your mood. It can make a regular Tuesday feel less regular. It can make a grocery run feel styled. It can turn a mirror selfie into a personality statement.
How to celebrate National OOTD Day
1. Wear your best summer outfit
Since National OOTD Day falls on June 30, it arrives right in peak summer. Think breathable, easy, heat-friendly clothes: linen shirts, cotton dresses, wide-leg pants, tank tops, relaxed shorts, skirts, sneakers, sandals, and light layers.
2. Try a no-buy OOTD challenge
Make the day more creative by styling only what you already own. Pick one forgotten piece from your closet and build the outfit around it.
That old button-down? Tie it over a tank.
The dress you only wore once? Add sneakers.
The shorts you keep ignoring? Give them a real outfit.
3. Add one 2026 trend
You do not need to dress like a runway report. Just add one current detail. Try polka dots, butter yellow, capris, long shorts, crochet, woven bags, flip-flops, a scarf, a matching set, or a relaxed linen piece. Small trend, big difference.
4. Post your fit check
Take a mirror selfie, a full-length photo, a flat lay, or a quick TikTok/Instagram Reel. Add a caption, mention what you are wearing, and use hashtags like #NationalOOTDDay and #OOTD.
5. Dress for the long weekend
In 2026, National OOTD Day lands just before the Fourth of July weekend. Use it as a test run for your barbecue, beach day, road trip, rooftop party, or fireworks outfit. Red, white, and blue are optional. Looking good is not.
