Bavarian Crepes Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1½ cups milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for sweet crepes)
- A pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Butter or oil for cooking
- Jam or chocolate spread
- Fresh fruits like banana or strawberries
- Whipped cream
- Cheese or sautéed vegetables (for savory version)
Process
Start by taking a bowl and whisking together the eggs and milk. Once smooth, add the flour, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix everything well until you get a thin, lump-free batter. It should be runny, not thick like pancake batter.
Heat a non-stick pan on medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil. Pour a small amount of batter into the pan and quickly swirl it around to form a thin layer.
Cook for about 1–2 minutes until the edges start lifting slightly. Flip it gently and cook the other side for another minute.
Repeat the same process with the remaining batter.
Add Fillings and serve.
Place your favorite filling in the center, fold or roll the crepe, and you’re done.
You can dust it with powdered sugar or drizzle some chocolate on top if you’re feeling extra.
