A year later, in 1810, British merchant Peter Durand patented the use of tin-coated iron cans, laying the foundation for modern canning.
By 1938, the first canned beer- Krueger Cream Ale- hit the market. Aluminum cans became common in the 1960s due to their lightweight and durable nature.
